Define what to maximise
The goal was to increase meaningful train time, reduce waiting, preserve sounds that may disappear and add new places to the journey.

The route linked Tokyo, Shin-Aomori, Morioka, Omagari and Niigata, while keeping more than one possible recording opportunity.

Crowds, delays, weather, overlapping announcements, extra costs and fatigue were listed with alternatives and rest time.
